The Friedreich's Ataxia Research Alliance (FARA)
Team Donovan Triathlon
FARA staff and community will be participating as Team Donovan in the Jarden Triathlon in Rye, NY on International Ataxia Awareness Day. Team Donovan was started on behalf of Donovan Simpson, who was diagnosed with Friedreich’s Ataxia 6 years ago. His parents Norman and Debra along with their friends and family rallied around the cause. They started raising funds for research by having people participate in the Jarden Triathlon on behalf of Donovan to raise funds and awareness for FARA. Since their beginning in 2004 Team Donovan has grown to over 36 participants along with a large FARA crowd cheering them on. The Jarden triathlon is 1-mile swim, followed by a 26-mile bike and finishing with a 6.2- mile run.
